MileMatch ("we", "us", "our") is a running partner matching app. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Spanish law.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data:

• —Date of birth (to verify you are 18 or older)
• —Gender and running preferences (pace, distance, time of day)
• —Location data (GPS coordinates) to find nearby runners
• —Messages sent between matched users
• —Device push notification tokens (to send match and message alerts)
• —App usage and interaction data (via PostHog analytics)

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• —Match you with compatible runners nearby
• —Show your approximate distance from other runners
• —Detect when you have crossed paths with other runners
• —Enable in-app messaging with your matches
• —Send push notifications for new matches and messages
• —Improve the app experience through anonymous analytics

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Location Data

MileMatch uses your device's GPS to find runners near you and detect when you cross paths with other runners. Location data is stored securely and only shared as approximate proximity (e.g. "2 km away"). Your exact coordinates are never shown to other users. Location history is automatically deleted after 7 days. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Location history is automatically deleted after 7 days. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by using the Delete Account option in your Profile settings or by contacting us.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure database storage, and authentication tokens. We never store plain-text passwords.

9. Children

MileMatch is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18 their account will be terminated and their data deleted.

5. Third-Party Services

MileMatch uses the following third-party services to operate:

• —Secure cloud database and authentication services (EU region)
• —Anonymous product analytics (EU Cloud) — no personally identifiable information is sent
• —Apple push notification services for match and message alerts
